5 Precautions That You Should Keep In Mind During An Early Pregnancy

You should be very careful about what you do and don’t do during these nine months of your pregnancy. But, most importantly, the first three months of your pregnancy are most delicate. 90% of cases of miscarriage and other pregnancy complications occur during these first three months. While on one hand, it is necessary that you should get an early pregnancy scan, it is also important to keep some precautions in your mind.

1.Avoid Smoking

If you have a habit of smoking, quit it now. If you smoke during pregnancy, it can increase the chance of miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, and preterm labor. This smoke when entering your body can also stop the healthy growth and development of the baby. So, quit smoking as soon as possible. It is always best to quit before you become pregnant.

2.Don’t Drink Alcohol

We are not saying that a little bit of alcohol will harm you in any way. But drinking regularly during pregnancy can definitely make it unsafe for your baby. It has been proven that drinking alcohol can lead to learning disorders and hamper the growth and development of the baby. If you drink in the first 12 weeks of your pregnancy, it can lead to miscarriage. If you are a regular drinker, it is best to quit before you become pregnant.

3.Limit Your Caffeine

Another thing to avoid during this time is your coffee. Many people nowadays cannot function properly in the morning without having a cup of coffee. This copious amount of coffee can make it harmful for your pregnancy. But the good news is that you won’t have to quit it in a day. You can have only one cup of coffee during the first few months. Also, if you can switch to having decaf during this time, you will be able to have a better and healthier pregnancy.

4.Avoid Sauna and Hot Baths

Avoid going to any place with a high temperature as it is not good for your fetal development. Whether you take a hot shower, hot bath, or go to a sauna, all of these can be harmful to the baby. Even if you want to use hot water for getting relief from back pain and joint pain, you should use heating pads. They are the most effective during this time.

If you stay careful and avoid all these things, you will definitely have a healthy pregnancy. Your first three months will pass by without any problem if you keep a track of your baby with an early pregnancy scan.
